How to live a life of inner peace?
How to achieve this inner calm state of mind? I fight against myself.
I want to be strong, I want to control of how I feel. I do not know what I have to do now?should I or should I not. All of these thoughts drive me crazy. But each and every day I am reminded that this is so real
There are things that are better left forgotten
The state of your body will have an effect on your mind and vice versa. Stress is certainly a factor in many of our lives that has a negative knock-on effect- both for our physical and emotional health. We usually just accept that stress is an inevitable consequence of our busy lives, and put up with it.
Achieving inner peace- even if it’s only for a brief period- is so refreshing, like recharging the body’s batteries. As the song says: “Always look on the bright side of life!”. Maybe easier said than done sometimes, but a worthy ambition nonetheless.
Do you want to live a happy life?
If you say yes like most people do then it’s important to learn to enjoy life. Some people may think that they can only enjoy life when they already have a lot of money or have a successful career. But that’s not true. You can enjoy your life where you are with what you already have. You can enjoy your life now.
Here I will share with you how to enjoy life. But before that, I’d like to share two tips that are essential to live a happy life. The first one is to be grateful. I can’t emphasize enough how important it is. No matter how many pleasant things you do, if you don’t learn to be grateful you will always see things negatively.
The second one is to slow down. Life has a lot of simple things you can enjoy. But if you move too fast you will overlook most of them. So don’t be in a hurry. Don’t move too quick. Slow down and pay attention to the world around you. Most of the ways I’m about to share will work well only if you slow down.
With those two tips in mind, here are 30 ways to enjoy life. Pick the ones that work for you:
- Enjoy your meal. Don’t just eat. Taste it and appreciate its richness.
- Learn to cook.
- Feel music and not just listen to it.
- Play music. More than just listening, playing music allows you to express yourself.
- Gather with old friends.
- Take a walk in the park.
- Go hiking.
- Read a novel.
- Find and watch a movie you like. IMDB’s recommendation engine can help you find movies you may like.
- Give yourself a lazy day.
- Play board games with your friends.
- Have a candle-light dinner with your spouse.
- Play mini games.
- Read comics.
- See beautiful pictures.
- Read inspiring quotes.
- Learn to paint.
- Read a classic book.
- Exercise with friends.
- Watch funny videos.
- Play with kids.
- Play a mind game.
- Have a cup of coffee.
- Get a massage.
- Go to a museum.
- Go to a theater.
- Watch sunrise.
- Take pictures.
- Browse your photo album for your treasured memories.
“Be happy while you’re living, for you’re a long time dead.”
Everyone says, “How the time flies.” The days go by and they are years, and the years finally become our whole life. Each daily portion can be wasted, or it can be a pleasure, before it is gone forever. If a bedtime review of the day concludes that we were too stressed, too busy, didn’t accomplish anything, didn’t have any fun, then it has been another lost piece of precious life.
Perhaps we are putting off our enjoyment until we have more time, or money, or some other improved condition. The trouble with that is that it might never happen, or it may be too long in coming. It’s so important to accept this time, this very minute, as something of tremendous value that will very soon be gone forever. There are many ways to ensure that we make the best of our time here on earth.
In our daily routine let’s include time to enjoy others and thus ourselves. Look and wonder at the trees, fields and mountains, smell the flowers, hear the birds, and watch the clouds in the sky.
“This world, after all our science and sciences, is still a miracle; wonderful, magical and more, to whosoever will think of it.”
Thomas Carlyle (1795-1881)
Face your problems bravely, confidently, and improve on your situation, no matter what state it be in. Be good to feel good. Be active and improve your mind. Laugh, relax, and sleep well.
Life is mostly froth and bubble. Two things stand like stone:
- Kindness in another’s trouble,
- Courage in our own.
Adam Gordon (1833-1870)
