ORA-00060: Deadlock Error During Concurrent Request Termination

Symptoms

Deadlock happens during concurrent request termination (or) timeout. The error below is flashed in the alert log whenever post processing request is being terminated. This might cause concurrent processing to hang.

The following deadlock is not an ORACLE error. It is a
deadlock due to user error in the design of an application
or from issuing incorrect ad-hoc SQL. The following
information may aid in determining the deadlock:

Cause

The cause of this problem has been identified and verified in an unpublished Bug 9327105.

Solution

To implement the solution, please execute the following steps:

 For 12.1 , To implement the solution, please execute the following steps:

1- Please download and review the readme of Patch 9490156 or Patch 9779137. Patch 9779137 is a later release and contains the following 3 referenced file versions

2- Apply the patch in a Test environment initially before any application to a production instance.

3- Confirm the following file versions:

AFCPOPCB.pls 120.2.12010000.2
AFCPOPCS.pls 120.1.12010000.2
AFCPOPRB.pls 120.11.12010000.2

You can use the commands like the following:
cd $FND_TOP/patch/115/sql

strings -a AFCPOPCB.pls |grep ‘Header’
strings -a AFCPOPCS.pls |grep ‘Header’
strings -a AFCPOPRB.pls |grep ‘Header’

4- Retest the issue.

5- If the issue is resolved, Migrate the solution as appropriate to other environments.

For 12 ,  To implement the solution, please execute the following steps:

1- Please download and review the readme of  Patch 9327105;

2- Apply the patch in a Test environment initially before any application to a production instance.

3- Confirm the following file versions:

AFCPOPCB.pls 120.2.12000000.2
AFCPOPCS.pls 120.1.12000000.2
AFCPOPRB.pls 120.7.12000000.6

You can use the commands like the following:
cd $FND_TOP/patch/115/sql

strings -a AFCPOPCB.pls |grep ‘Header’
strings -a AFCPOPCS.pls |grep ‘Header’
strings -a AFCPOPRB.pls |grep ‘Header’

4- Retest the issue.

5- If the issue is resolved, Migrate the solution as appropriate to other environments.

For 11i ,  To implement the solution, please execute the following steps:

1- Please download and review the readme of  Patch 9380872;

2- Apply the patch in a Test environment initially before any application to a production instance.

3- Confirm the following file versions:

AFCPOPCB.pls 115.2
AFCPOPCS.pls 115.1
AFCPOPRB.pls 115.14

You can use the commands like the following:
cd $FND_TOP/patch/115/sql

strings -a AFCPOPCB.pls |grep ‘Header’
strings -a AFCPOPCS.pls |grep ‘Header’
strings -a AFCPOPRB.pls |grep ‘Header’

4- Retest the issue.

5- If the issue is resolved, Migrate the solution as appropriate to other environments
